Meet Monica

[Owner & Photographer]

For over 30 years, my favorite part of being a photographer has been providing clients with an exceptional experience. My team and I guide you through every step, making it easy to achieve high-quality photography that elevates your brand.

With a degree in Art History from the University of Utah and a background in photography that includes time spent living in and touring Europe, I've had the opportunity to teach, assist top photographers, and manage galleries. In 2004, I launched Photoumbra Studios, which has since received national recognition, including features in Professional Photographer Magazine and a 2023 Best of State in Commercial Photography for Utah.

While I value these accomplishments, my greatest pride is being a mom to a beautiful daughter and a wife to my husband of over 20 years.

My promise to my clients is that you will feel valued and be thrilled with your experience working with my team and I. Based in Herriman, UT, I offer both on-location and studio sessions by appointment. I look forward to creating impactful images together!

I believe the power of kindness can make a difference and that a smile can light up a room. I strive to lend a hand and bring cheer to those around me, knowing that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

I love interacting with people. I think it is so important to build relationships and get to know people on a personal level. Hard work is essential, and I aim to infuse this value into everything I do.

At home, my world revolves around the beautiful chaos of family life. As a wife and mother of four amazing kids, I've found joy and growth in almost two decades of marriage. My days are a whirlwind of activity, filled with the laughter and energy of my children as they dive into sports, school, and community events. From school plays to church activities, my family keeps me on my toes, and I cherish every moment spent together.

Amid life's ups and downs, my greatest happiness comes from sharing simple moments with the people I love. One of them being, eating a home cooked meal that little hands have helped me make while we sit around the kitchen table laughing and talking about our day.

I am excited to work with Photoumbra Studios and to utilize my people skills in a new way!

Hi, I’m Brittney! I've been a certified makeup artist for over 15 years, and I absolutely love helping people feel like the best version of themselves. My style is all about natural glam, bringing out your unique features and enhancing that gorgeous glow you already have. Whether it’s a soft, subtle look or a bit more drama, I’m here to make sure you feel radiant and confident.

I work with photographers like Photoumbra Studios to provide professional makeup and hair for headshots and branding sessions. There’s nothing like helping people look and feel amazing for those important photos that represent their brand and personality. I know how makeup needs to work with lighting and camera angles, so I’m always thinking about how to make you shine on camera in the most flattering way.

Beyond photoshoots, I also do makeup and hair for any big event you have—weddings, family photos, even film! And if you’re looking to learn some tricks yourself, I offer makeup lessons for both individuals and groups. I love teaching people how to recreate their favorite looks at home, so if you want to level up your makeup game, let’s make it happen!

When you see someone without a Smile, give them yours! I think this has always been my lifes motto. I've always loved to connect with people whether its a friendly smile or finding some small way to talk and get to know someone! Everyone has a story and I find people interesting and think it makes our lives better to connect!!

I have been married for 31 years to my best friend and I'm the Mom of 5 Grown son's, who have always been my Reason for everything I do! We can learn so much from our children and they have taught me some of the most important life lessons! I became a Mimi 2 years ago and It has been my favorite 2nd title! I enjoy seeing the World through her eyes as everything is new, and exciting,we have so much fun together, going on nature walks and collecting rocks and pinecones and visiting horses in our neighborhood! Our family loves to vacation in Oregon we have been going for over 25 years! The Ocean is where my Soul is free! We do game nights together and love going bowling and Axe Throwing and Top Golf Keeping my family connected is important to me!

I believe you should always try new things in life, stepping out of our comfort zone isn't always easy, but it helps us grow! Over the years I have worked at an Elementary for 5 years as well as at a High School! I was lucky to be a Nanny for 5 years and that was one of my favorite things! I am passionate about family and my friends. I always try to leave someone feeling important and special! Life is meant to be lived and I am loving this new Chapter in life getting to work along side Monica and meeting new Clients and having connections with them!
